1973 Maestro EP-3 Echoplex Solid State Vintage Tape Echo Delay Unit EP-1 EP-2

1973 Maestro EP-3 Echoplex Solid State Vintage Tape Echo Delay Unit EP-1 EP-2

Up for sale, a 1973 Maestro EP-3 Echoplex in excellent condition and perfect working order. Introduced at the beginning of the 1970s as a solid state version of the previous tube EP-2, the EP-3 went on to become what has lovingly been referred to as "the sound of the 70s" after its extensive use by artists such as Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page, and Brian May. The Echoplex is still used in studios across across the world, not only for its warm organic echo, but also for its preamp capabilities, which many legends claim is essential to their tone. The circuit is clean and original with stock transformers and original CTS pots that date to the 35th week of '73. Everything on this EP-3 works as it should, and the tape echo has been gone through by our techs here at Mike Mike's Guitar Bar to ensure that all functions are working correctly. The original smooth black covering is in fantastic shape, and the tape cartridge cover and schematic are both intact when you open up the unit. Even the original (and often replaced or missing) handle is present and reliable. Cosmetically, this unit shows only minor wear around the edges, but has obviously been well cared for over the last 45 years!Check out our shop "Mike Mike's Guitar Bar," and please let us know if we can answer any questions!
